One of the hardest areas of the funeral industry is when there is a death of a child.
Until recently, we would not charge any fee for our professional services when arranging a funeral for a minor under the age of 12. This has now been extended to children under the age of 18.
For the death of a child under 5 we will also include a simple white coffin.
Whilst some disbursements are outside of our control (doctor fees, crematorium charges, etc), we will not invoice for our professional services if a child has passed away before their 18th birthday. This includes removing the child into our care, caring for them up to and including the day of the funeral, providing a hearse, providing a funeral director and pall bearers, and all administration fees.
Co-op Funeral Directors feels strongly that, in situations like this, it is the very least we can do.
