The government’s announcement of a new tier 4 category last weekend sent shockwaves across Essex, with families scrambling to change their Christmas plans accordingly.
Whilst our own colleagues have also been affected, from the perspective of Co-op Funeral Directors as a business, we’ve been able to continue with no changes to our existing service. Our branches continue to follow all safety guidelines and our Family Liaison Officers will remain masked when clients visit – we still ask you call ahead first to book an appointment. Our Operatives remain masked throughout funeral services and will remain socially distant. Our fleet of limousines are COVID-secure and so will all remain available.
The guidelines to the funeral industry also remain unchanged at this time, with crematoria and local venues still allowing “up to 30” to attend services. Funerals are currently being booked approximately four weeks ahead.
