Ingatestone Funeral Directors celebrates 10th anniversary September 4, 2014

Ingatestone 10yrs

The Funeral division of Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society celebrated its 10th anniversary of opening its Ingatestone funeral branch, with a memorial walk.

On a gloriously sunny Sunday afternoon, a crowd including both clients and the Chelmsford Star funeral team, were led on a leisurely walk by Reverend Patrick Sherring to the lovely old church of St Mary’s in Fryerning.

In the cemetery all gathered around to watch the Family Liaison Officers from Ingatestone, Kim Myers and Jackie Carrick, plant a Hornbeam tree to mark the occasion. Reverend Sherring carried out a blessing and then 10 white doves were symbolically released.

Kim commented: “It was a quiet and dignified ceremony which many found very moving. Hopefully the tree will grow strong and will always serve to remind all of our Sunday together and Chelmsford Star Co-operative Funeral Services commitment to supporting the local community.”

Afterwards refreshments were served whilst Reverend Sherring showed off the church.
