Funeral Directors in Braintree
Chelmsford Star Co-operative Funeral Services has two branches in Braintree: The town centre branch is in George Yard, right in the town centre, where people are welcome to come and see us to discuss funeral arrangements.
In this branch where we can arrange a special remembrance service, whatever their faith. We also arrange non-religious funerals.
For visiting this branch we recommend parking in the main town centre car parks. If coming by public transport, our nearest bus stop is in London Road and we are just a short 5-10 minute walk from the bus station in town and the train station.
As well as serving the community in Braintree since 1993, we also support families in Bocking, Halstead and Witham, working closely with local churches as well as the Three Counties Crematorium in Braintree.

Meet our family liaison officers
Lynne joined us late in 2017, and works in our branch in George Yard Shopping Centre, following time in our Dunmow branch.
She enjoys learning about the lives and history of the people coming into her care, and using that to make sure any arrangements meet their and the family’s needs.
Lynne lives near Dunmow with her husband, following a spell living abroad, and enjoys water aerobics and walking their dog Bullseye through the fields of Stebbing.
Testimonials for Braintree Funeral Directors
The burden was lessened knowing that we could rely on you to provide a comprehensive and competent service. I feel we gave Dad a good send off and am very grateful for your efforts in helping us achieve that goal.
“I just wanted to say how much your help and advice meant to us all, at a very difficult time. The day went well, with your planning and thoughtfulness.”
“I would like to thank you for your help and kindness while arranging the funeral; as always, you went above and beyond your duty. Your team helped me stay very calm and didn’t rush me, allowing me to do things at my pace.”
In these challenging times with funeral restrictions the support and guidance was there for me every step of the way and every reassurance was given to me that the service would be delivered impeccably and indeed it was. I am very appreciative of this.
