Co-op Funeral Directors‘ free bereavement support celebrated 21 years of helping the people of Essex this week.
The local business, owned by Chelmsford Star Co-operative, operates 4 Bereavement & Aftercare Support groups and 2 coffee drop-ins across the region, each meeting regularly according to the community’s requirements.
Winnie, a regular user of the service for over 20 years, said; “I suffered a series of bereavements in close succession and I experienced some very dark days. I went a little loopy truth be told. Meeting with other people going through similar emotions really helped pull me through, and now I’m ok and I’m helping others that are having a tough time. You might not expect it, but our gatherings tend to be quite cheery!”
Co-op Funeral Directors, recently winners of ‘Best Funeral Provider – Essex’ in local Business Achievement Awards 2022, run regular weekday support groups in Chelmsford, Braintree, Ingatestone and Writtle with drop-ins at Dunmow and Danbury.
