About Chelmsford Star Co-operative Funeral Services
As a long-established firm of Funeral Arrangers in Essex, with a heritage dating back to 1936, we are proud to serve our local communities, in many cases supporting generations of families.
We care passionately about the customer service we offer, from the moment of first contact with you until after the funeral service, providing bereavement counselling and support groups for people who would like additional support. In fact, our team have won numerous local business awards over the years for demonstrating how we go above and beyond in supporting our customers.
We are members of the National Association of Funeral Directors and the Funeral Planning Authority, abiding by their Codes of Conduct and providing peace of mind. When organising a funeral, you will be supported by your local Family Liaison Officer in your local branch, as well as our Funeral Services team below.

Anne Marie has worked in the profession for over a decade and likes helping families seeing their loved one at peace and guiding them through their difficult time. She previously ran a nursing home. She loves to swim and spend time at home with her young daughter.
SENIOR FUNERAL OPERATIVE
Mark has been with Chelmsford Star Co-operative Funeral Services since 2004 and has been promoted to Senior Funeral Operative. He enjoys the job and the staff that he works with and feels it is important to help families at such a difficult time. His hobbies include geocaching, walking, camping and being with his wife and son.
Paul joined us in 2019 as a funeral operative having worked as a driving instructor for 12 years. He decided he wanted to take on a new challenge, and we were it! As well as being a pall-bearer and driver, Paul’s duties are also to oversee our workshop.
When he’s not working, Paul has a love of classic cars, and likes to attend car shows.
Dan joined us in 2015 and has a keen interest in cars. He can usually be found looking after our fleet of Jaguar hearses and limousines, polishing them to perfection. He previously worked in the car repair business. In his spare time, he enjoys family life and fishing.
Luke joined us in 2017, starting in our workshop, and has been training hard to reach the position of funeral conductor. He realised he wanted to work in the funeral business after losing a member of his own family, where it became apparent to him how important the role was to those grieving.
Outside of work, Luke enjoys going to the gym and spending time with his family.
